We had a nice evening of "cocktail" jazz on Friday night, Jan. 23. The Sacramento Grand Ballroom at 629 J Street is a unique setting for a reception. This was Kaiser's recognition celebration and the party theme was "Hollywood". The former bank was decked out with typical Hollywood statues and landmarks. One of the bars was at the corner of Hollywood & Vine!

I played trumpet, bass trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone and alto sax. With pianist Tom Whinnery, we played a little more than 3 hours of easy listening jazz, swing and some 'show' tunes like "As Time Goes By". This was a large gathering with more than 400 guests.
