Why they don't sell DJs at the Dollar $tore!

"What do you charge to do a wedding?"
"What is your hourly rate?"
"How much to DJ my wedding next summer?"

These are some of the most popular first questions I get when someone contacts me to inquire about my services.........
Sure, budget is a factor in every buying decision we make, but should it be a primary decision when you're trying to find a good DJ/Emcee?? Are we all the same? How do you find a good one within your budget?

The Dollar Store DJ Story>>

Do they have DJs at the $1.00 store? The $1.00 store is for products where quality isn’t a factor. All bleach is bleach. All duct tape is duct tape. All candy is candy. All greeting cards are greeting cards. All helium balloons are the same. All school supplies are the same. All gift bags are the same……..

DJs are NOT in an aisle at The Dollar Store. All DJs are not the same. We are a service, not a product. In fact, DJs are THE most important service professional at your wedding or special event! We can make or break the party. Before you hire a DJ, meet with them to make sure you like their personality. They are bringing their personality to your party! If it’s a destination wedding or impossible to meet in person, talk with them via phone more than once to get a sense of their communication skills and personality.
Check for credentials all professional DJs should have such as liability insurance and a business license. Ask about the equipment they will use. Does it look good? How does it sound? Can they provide professional quality wireless lapel (hidden) mics for the ceremony and wireless hand held mics for the toasts?
